He is the co-founder of the SKA (Square Kilometre Array) China and the FAST (Fivehundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope) Project, who is the key player to initiate, develop, build and use the largest single dish FAST, conducting the first RFI survey for potential SKA/FAST sites as the group leader of Large Telescope at Beijing Astronomical Observatory (predecessor of NAOC) in 1994. Abstract Kilometre-square I will review the milestones of Area Chinese SKA efforts especially Radio Synthesis on FAST, our preparatory for the Telescope FAST expanded array (FASTea) with the key technology Phased Array Feed. I will introduce our recent discoveries from FAST observations such as the ultra-deep survey on HI galaxies, pulsar searching and timing in globular clusters, and the solar wind study via interplanetary scintillation phenomena. All are welcome!
