I understand that the SSPS reestablished the first sociology program as a discipline in China, and has maintained its reputation as a top-ranking program among Chinese universities. I have had a great pleasure to see how the Asian Demographic Research Institute (ADRI) has grown and developed after its establishment in 2015. In particular, I owe a debt of gratitude to the SSPS for the tremendous support that I received during the 4th Asian Population Association Conference held on your campus in 2018.
