IEEE is able to enrich your life by providing information you desire, and friends with common interests. 个人简介： 甘霖，清华大学助理研究员，国家超级计算无锡中心研发中心主任，江苏省政协委员。20122013 年担任 IEEE 清华大学学生分会主席。主要从事面向超级计算机的软件与应用研究，曾 获世界超级计算最高奖“戈登·贝尔奖”、IEEE 国际高性能计算杰出新人奖、IEEE FPL2015 “25 年最具影响力论文奖”等荣誉，入选江苏省科协青年人才托举工程。 Dr. Lin Gan is an assistant professor at Tsinghua University, and the assistant director of the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi. He served as the IEEE Tsinghua Student Branch chair from 20122013. He is the receipt of the ACM Gordon Bell Prize, IEEE TCHPC Award for Excellence for Early Career Researchers in HPC, and the Most Significant Paper Award issued by IEEE FPL 2015, etc. Session2: April 25, 2:30-3:30pm 主题： IEEE 与我的硅谷之路 IEEE - Leading My Way to the Silicon Valley 概要： 一个初来乍到的留学生如何能很快地融入陌生的校园环境？一个工科学生如何积攒项目经 验，去打破求职时因为经验不足而被拒之门外的困境？在学术/职业场合中，有哪些“西方的 那一套”值得我们在中国借鉴了解？其实这些都是曾经刚刚踏出国门的我自己心中产生过的 疑问。在大学和 IEEE 的四年中，我找到了很多答案。很期待能和您分享我的这些感悟！ How would a "fresh off the plane" international student find their ways in a foreign world? How would an engineering student be able to gain hands-on project experiences in order to land a job or internship? In the academic and professional world, is there anything from the West that worth the East to take note on? I had these questions when I started my venture abroad, and through my 4 years with IEEE in college, I think I've found some answers. It will be my pleasure to share my stories and thoughts with you! 个人简介： 任俊儒现在是一名位于硅谷的软件攻城狮，就职于著名的语音识别科技公司 SoundHound。 进入职场前，任俊儒于 2014 到 18 年间在美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校（UCSD）攻读计算机 工程学士学位。从帮忙处理宣传事物到担任社团的主席，在整个大学四年中，任俊儒几乎把 所有的课余时间都献给了 IEEE 在 UCSD 的学生分会。因为在他看来，这个社团传授给了他太 多太多课堂中所获取不到的一些人生经验。 Junru "Thomas" Ren is currently a Software Engineer at Silicon Valley's SoundHound Inc, an industry leader in voice recognition technology. Before entering the industry, Thomas earned a degree in Computer Engineering at University of California San Diego. During his entire 4 years at UC San Diego from 2014 to 2018, he dedicated nearly all of this extracurricular efforts to IEEE Student Branch at UC San Diego, from being a Public Relations Chair to the Chair of the org. He believes that IEEE is where he could gain so much life experience that no classroom can offer. Session3: April 29, 7:30-8:30 pm 主题: 计算机博士从实验室到工业界的思考与感受 CS PhD: Step from Research Lab to Industry 概要： 作为 CS，EE 专业的你，不知是否正在或即将面临职业的选择？投身科研还是转向企业？稳 定大公司还是可能性更大的小团队？对此我将结合自身经历分享 3 点： （1）博士毕业为何选 择工业界，并以微信作为职业起点； （2）在腾讯与高校实验室做研究有哪些不同； （3）BAT 和创业公司的工作区别以及各自点亮了哪些职业技能点。 As a graduate student majored in CS or EE, are you confused with career choices? Continue researching colleges or go to industries? Join giant companies or startups? I will share my experience for these questions: (1) The reasons why I went to industries and joined WeChat after getting Ph.D. degree; (2) The difference of doing research in Tencent and colleges; (3) The difference of working experience in BAT and startups and what I learned from them. 个人简介： 何聪辉博士，商汤科技研究副总监，中山大学学士（2013） ，斯坦福大学（2016） 、伦敦帝国 理工学院（2017）访问学生，清华大学博士（2018）。何聪辉的主要研究兴趣为高性能计算、 可重构计算以及图计算。曾任 IEEE 清华学生分会主席，国家超算无锡中心产品孵化组组长； 曾获 2017 ACM 戈登贝尔奖，清华大学计算机系优秀博士毕业生。 Dr. Conghui He is the Deputy Director of Research for SenseTime. Conghui received the Bachelor and Ph.D. degree in Sun Yat-sen University (2013) and Tsinghua University (2018) respectively. He also visited Stanford University (2016) and Imperial College (2017) as an exchange Ph.D. student. His research interests include high performance computing, reconfigurable computing and graph computing. Conghui was the president of IEEE-Tsinghua student branch and the research leader in the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi. He won the 2017 ACM Gordon Bell Prize award and the outstanding Ph.D. award in Tsinghua University. She is mainly responsible for customer outreach, awareness and training programs for the IEEE Xplore Digital Library and other subscription products. Qing also manages the University Partnership Program, developing stronger relationships with student leaders, librarians, and faculty in China. Prior to joining the IEEE, Qing received her MPhil, MS and BS from Syracuse University, USA and Peking University, China.
