There are post-doctoral station, two PhD programs in occupational and environmental health and hygiene toxicology; master program of public health and preventive medicine and master program of public health (MPH). There are 47 teachers including 13 full professors, 16 associate professors, 8 doctoral supervisors and 29 graduate tutors in the school, 54% of the teachers have PhD degree. The discipline of Occupational and environmental health is the key discipline of Province and 985 program from which “The Environment and Health Innovation and Research Center” is financially supported and well equipped in the discipline. There are 12 teachers, including 4 professors, 6 associate professors, 3 doctoral supervisors and 90% teachers have PhD degree. The researches of the discipline focus on the major projects of environment and health, such as control of pollution in Taihu Lake, safety assessment of biomaterials, nanotechnology, chemical pollutants and drinking water. Combination of medicine and engineering are characteristics and advantages of this discipline. In recent 5 years, the discipline has received 29 research grants including the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the research grants from provincial and ministerial foundations. More than three hundred papers have been published. Objectives Students will grasp the fundamental principles of Marxism, stick to the Four Cardinal Principles, have the sense of patriotic duty, abide by the laws and regulations, and behave upright. Meanwhile, the students will develop their spirit of serving the people and devoting to the construction of socialism. The students will grasp digital, modern digital communication, signal processing theory, mobile communication, and development tools of software and hardware. The students will have systematic and thorough expertise, become specialized in experimental techniques used in his/her research areas, and be capable of conducting independent research in scientific fields. The students graduated with a Master degree are competent for the scientific research, technological development and teaching. Credit requirements and curriculum (see attached list) Thesis Proposal in accordance with Principles and Requirements of Southeast University on Topic Selection and Topic Report of Graduate Thesis Interim Assessment in accordance with Measures of Southeast University on Medium-term Assessment and Screening for Master Graduates Thesis 〔Literature reading requirements, thesis written request, publication achievement requirements etc.〕 Literature Reading Students are required to read at least 50 literatures (including 30 literatures written in foreign languages) related to their thesis and research direction and write a literature review. Thesis Writing In addition to compliance with the provisions of school, thesis must be written in a systematic and complete manner, presenting clear concepts, correct argument, realistic description, concise writing structure, smooth and concise writing style, correct calculation, reliable data, and clear icons. Thesis Evaluation: Thesis should be written based on students’ own study and research. The findings presented in the thesis should have higher academic value and positive impact on economic or social development of China. 5 Students are required to conduct at least one year research and to publish at least 1 research paper in the area of their disciplines in CSCD、SCI、EI、ISTP、MEDLINE cited journals before being eligible for applying for a Master's degree.
