榮 譽 博 士 代 表 許 嘉 璐 教 授 演 辭 Discurso do Professor Doutor Xu Jialu Representante dos Doutores Honoris Causa Speech by Professor Xu Jialu Representative of The Doctors Honoris Causa 37 尊敬的澳門特別行政區行政長官、澳門大學校監崔世安博士； 尊敬的澳門特別行政區社會文化司司長張裕先生； 尊敬的校董會主席謝志偉博士； 尊敬的校董會榮譽學位及榮譽名銜委員會主席李沛霖先生； 尊敬的校長趙偉教授； 各位嘉賓、各位老師、各位同學； 女士們、先生們： 今天在這裡，我榮幸地接受了澳門大學頒授的榮譽博士學位。與我一起獲此殊榮 的還有莫慶恩神父、王曉東教授及黃景強博士，我們對於澳門大學對我們的接納 和高度評價，表示衷心的感謝！ 很多大學每年給很多人士頒授榮譽學位，但我注意到，澳門大學在這一方面對候 選人的選擇一向嚴謹，並堅持很高的標準。我理解這是一個高水平的大學保持自 己嚴謹校風的值得稱道的做法。因此，一方面我倍感榮幸，但同時我又對此深表 讚賞。 澳門大學擁有三十年的歷史，對於一個大學來說這樣的歷史還相當短暫。不過在 這短暫的時間內，澳門各界積極支持，大學同仁艱苦努力，使得大學辦出了特 色，辦出了水平。在此基礎上，全國人大常委會批准了澳門大學向珠海橫琴借地 發展的計劃，胡錦濤主席又親自為澳大新校園奠基，並對澳門大學提出了五個一 流的辦學要求，最近，溫家寶總理也視察澳大，對於澳大的發展提出了殷切的期 望。這些都預示著，澳門大學正處在千載一時的發展關頭，面臨著前所未有的機 遇與挑戰，更擁有無限美好的前景，擁有新一個三十年的輝煌。我們對澳門大學 以及這個大學的所有成員表示熱烈的祝賀。 同時，在未來的大學建設中，我們將給予更多的關注，將盡自己的可能付出更多 的心力，以不辜負學校對我們的信任和重視，不辜負學校給予我們的榮譽與鼓 勵。我們和在座的每一位，對風正帆懸走上新的三十年航程的澳門大學，同懷一 腔熱血，同持一種期盼。當若干年以後，澳門大學實現了胡主席的勉勵，我們這 些榮譽博士將更加榮譽！ 謝謝各位！ 39 Sua Excelência o Chefe do Executivo da RAEM e Chanceler da Universidade de Macau, Doutor Chui Sai On, Sua Excelência o Secretário para os Assuntos Sociais e Culturais da RAEM, Dr. Cheong U, Exmo. Senhor Presidente do Conselho da Universidade, Doutor Tse Chi Wai, Exmo. Senhor Presidente da Comissão de Graus e Títulos Honoríficos do Conselho da Universidade, Dr. Lei Pui Lam, Magnífico Reitor Professor Doutor Wei Zhao, Distintos Convidados, Estimados Professores, Caros Colegas, Senhoras e Senhores: Constitui para mim uma grande honra receber o grau de Doutor honoris causa da Universidade de Macau. Gostaria de exprimir, juntamente com os outros galardoados, nomeadamente, o Padre Lancelote Miguel Rodrigues, o Professor Wang Xiaodong e o Doutor Wong King Keung, os nossos profundos agradecimentos por este reconhecimento e louvor pela Universidade de Macau! Diferente das outras universidades que conferem um número elevado de graus honoríficos todos os anos, a Universidade de Macau mantém um critério rigoroso na selecção de candidatos para a atribuição desta honra. É uma prática louvável que reflecte a boa tradição de uma universidade de prestígio. Por isso mesmo, sinto um orgulho especial com a atribuição deste louvor. A Universidade de Macau tem uma história de trinta anos, um pequeno período de tempo para uma instituição de ensino superior. Todavia, durante este curto período, com apoio de toda a comunidade, e através do esforço dos membros da Universidade, a UM evoluiu para uma instituição de ponta com características próprias. Decorridos trinta anos, a Universidade encontra-se no melhor momento na sua história. Depois da aprovação, pela Comissão Permanente da Assembleia Popular do Povo Chinês, da construção de um novo campus na Ilha de Hengqin, o Presidente da R. P da China, Dr. Hu Jintao, presidiu à cerimónia de lançamento da primeira pedra deste campus, e deixou à UM “cinco votos de excelência”. Para além disso, recentemente, o Primeiro-Ministro Chinês, Dr. Wen Jiabao visitou a Universidade e manifestou a sua esperança no futuro da UM. Todos estes factos demonstram que a UM está face a uma oportunidade sem precedentes e perante um futuro prometedor. Gostaria de aproveitar esta ocasião para dar parabéns a todos os membros da UM. Para responder à confiança e ao reconhecimento da Universidade de Macau, iremos prestar mais atenção a esta instituição e envidar o melhor esforço no sentido de impulsionar o desenvolvimento da mesma. Num momento em que a Universidade de Macau está prestes a iniciar uma nova jornada, todos nós partilhamos do mesmo entusiasmo e esperança. Esperamos que, no futuro, a UM possa atingir os objectivos propostos pelo Presidente da R. P. da China. Nessa altura, a distinção que a UM nos confere hoje assumirá um significado ainda mais especial. Muito obrigado! 41 Honorable Dr. Fernando Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR and Chancellor of the University of Macau, Honorable Mr. Cheong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR, Honorable Dr. Daniel Tse Chi Wai, Chair of the University Council, Honorable Mr. Lei Pui Lam, Chair of the Honorary Degrees and Titles Committee of the University Council, Honorable Prof. Wei Zhao, Rector, Distinguished Guests, Dear Teachers and Students, Ladies and Gentlemen: We are tremendously honoured today to be awarded the honorary doctoral degrees by the University of Macau. May we - Father Lancelote Rodrigues, Prof. Wang Xiaodon, Dr. Wong King Keung and myself - express our heartfelt thanks to the University for such an honour conferred on us. To us, this award speaks a lot. It is very common for a university to confer the honorary degrees on quite a number of the candidates every year. Yet we took notice that the University of Macau adopts stringent procedures and high criteria for the selection of honorary degree candidates. This is what a world class university should do to maintain its high academic standards. Therefore we feel all the more honored to be awarded the degree, and we are deeply appreciative of that. The University of Macau is actually quite “young” in view of its thirty years of history. Yet, within such a short period of time, it has been able to carve its niche thanks to the full support from the local community and the great effort made by the faculty members of your University. To give the University a further boost, the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress approved the construction of a new campus on the Hengqin Island. When President Hu Jintao officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new campus, he raised his high expectations that the University would be able to achieve results of the ‘first-rate’ on five different fronts. During his recent visit, Premier Wen Jiabao also voiced his keen expectations of the University’s future. All this shows that the University of Macau is now ushering into a new era of development. With both opportunities and challenges ahead, it surely will have another promising thirty years to come. We would therefore like to congratulate you -the University and all of its members- for your great achievements. At the same time, we are determined to pay more attention and make a greater contribution to the University’s future development. This is in our view the best way to answer the trust and expectations you put on us. We are all, like every one of you here, pinning a high hope on the University as it is heading at full sail towards its next thirty years. We are looking forward to the time when it will have transformed itself into what President Hu has expected of us. Our honor we have today will then further blossom into a new meaning and a new significance. And we are sure that it will. Thank you! 43
