Academic Project Scholarships in Madrid-Spain for Chinese Technical Students Madrid—September 18, 2009 The Technical University of Madrid (UPM, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid) is offering up to thirty scholarships for students from leading Chinese Technical Universities to conduct graduate or undergraduate engineering projects in the Technical University of Madrid in technical areas of large potential for the development of new business opportunities. These projects should receive academic credit in the Chinese home university. Each scholarship awarded will consist of six thousand euros to cover cost of air fare as well as living expenses in Madrid for a period of six months. Students admitted to this program will be exempt from tuition fees at UPM. Applications should arrive no later than October 31, 2009 and include: 1. Proof (by any internationally recognized test of by interview) of knowledge of the English language (minimum level required equivalent to TOEFL 80(IB)/213(CB)/550(PB)) 2. Two letters of recommendation from university professors 3. Original transcript of records 4. Translation to English of the transcript of records, signed and sealed by the student’s home University 5. Statement of purpose clearly indicating preferred technical areas of work, special expertise or experience in these areas, and preferred periods of time to develop the project at UPM.
