BNU ranks first in Education, Psychology, Geography, Ecology, Ancient Chinese History in China, 2013. Mr. Yan MO, Nobel Literature Laureate in 2012, is a BNU Professor. He also obtained his Master's degree in Literature from BNU. 北京師範大學(以下簡稱 BNU)建於 1902 年,是教育部直屬重點高校,是 一所以教師教育、教育科學和文理基礎學科為主要特色的著名學府。北師大的教 育學、心理學、地理學、生態學、古代中國歷史專業 2013 年居於全國首位。2012 年諾貝爾文學獎得主莫言先生也是北師大的畢業生,目前在學校任教。 BNU has been recruiting international students since 1965. So far, the university has established cooperative ties with over 300 universities and research institutions. Moreover, BNU has co-established seven Confucius Institutes around the world. Long-term and short-term international students from over 94 countries and regions are studying at BNU, with 1,800 autumn-registered long-term international students, of whom 76% are pursuing academic degrees. 北京師範大學國際合作交流廣泛,自 1965 年起便招收國際學生。學校與近 300 所國內外高校、研究機構簽署了合作協定,並參與 7 所孔子學院的設立。長 短期留學生來自 94 個國家和地區,秋季在校長期留學生近 1800 人,其中學歷生 占 76%。 As the only branch of BNU, Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai (hereafter BNUZ) is jointly established by BNU and the Zhuhai Municipal government. It is practice-oriented and focuses on cultivating students who can keep in line with the demands of social and economic development. As one of the First Special Economic Zones in China and China’s Most Suitable Cities for Living, Zhuhai is regarded as the key city on the western region of the Pearl River Delta. It is convenient for students to get to Guangzhou (40 minutes by light rail), Shenzhen (90 minutes by bus), Hong Kong (60 minutes by ferry), Macau (adjacent) and South East Asia (2-3 hours by plane) from our campus. Not to mention, our superb facilities, various social activities and extensive student support ensure that you can make the most of every moment at BNUZ. Programme Objectives I. 項目宗旨 The International Youth Leadership Programme is a platform we forged to promote cross-cultural communication and collaborative academic research. Initiated by Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai & Beijing), we previously have participants from University of Oxford, University of Birmingham and so on. The programme aims to cultivate new generation of youth leaders with the sense of social responsibility for their countries and the world. Programme Details II. 項目細則 Time and Place 時間及地點  The programme will begin from July 11th to July 29th, 2015. The first two weeks will be in Zhuhai, a key city in Southern China and the last week in Beijing, the capital of China.  項目時間為 2016 年 7 月 11 日至 7 月 29 日。項目前兩周在珠海舉行,最 後一周在北京舉行。 Student Involvement 學生參與  International youth leadership training. They should play a leading role in helping the other IYLP participants to obtain abilities of critical-thinking, problem-solving, team-working and solution-demonstrating.  國際青年領導力為核心。合作大學的學生將承擔朋輩導師的角色,參與 設計課程、舉辦主題工作坊、協助學生開展課題研究等等。他們將在培 養成長營項目成員的英語交流能力、獨立思考能力、動手實踐能力、團 隊合作能力、問題解決能力、成果展示能力中發揮帶隊作用。  Participatory learning. Students from our partner universities should be engaged in the curriculum design of IYLP with other IYLP mentors under the guidance by the Programme Committee. Meanwhile, they should conduct a workshop to share with IYLP participants about their understanding on leadership skills or other relevant topics.  中外學生同構課程。國際青年領袖成長營課程體現中外學生自主同構的 原則。合作大學的學生應在項目委員會的指導下,參與自主學習和課程 構建。此外,為增進分享與合作,合作大學的學生也應自主設計和組織 領導力培養相關的主題工作坊,促進多元文化的交流。  Cooperative research. Students from our partner universities should be engaged in course discussion and project design, making efforts to motivate participants’ mutual understanding and sharing. Being exposed to various self-designed research projects, both Chinese and foreign students will altogether go through the whole process of project design, research conduction and solution demonstration based on their interest and their major backgrounds, while taking advantages of the resources in the Pearl River Delta.  共同開展項目研究。在項目開展過程中,合作大學的學生應努力調動所 在團隊成員的積極性,促進相互溝通和分享。中外營員將一同參與研究 項目的自主設計設計、提出、實施和成果展示的全過程,充分吸收和利 用珠江三角洲的文化和資源,設計出體現個人興趣和專業特點的研究項 目。  Friendly English-learning environment. The program will adopt English as its major working language to generate a better English learning atmosphere. It particularly gives weight to the practical use of English rather than just learning it. By adopting experiential interactive teaching methods, IYLP allows students to practice and obtain knowledge in a real context when experiencing the local life and culture. Thus, it is also recommended for the students from our partner universities to fully enjoy the campus life in BNUZ as well as making more integration with BNUZ students and local communities.
