2016 Winners of 2016' Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences 年中国科学院杰出科技成就奖获奖者 获 奖 个 集 人 体 Research Group of Ecosystem Services, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences T he group conducted long-term and systematic researches on the formation and interaction mechanism, assessment methods and their policy application of ecosystem services. The research methods linking ecological processes and ecosystem services were established; the interaction mechanisms of different kinds of ecosystem services were clarified; the qualitative assessment methods and trade-off analysis system of ecosystem services were developed. The group conducted the national ecosystem service regionalization and ecosystem service assessment for the first time and identified the important Ecological Function Conservation Areas for national ecological security safeguarding, which supported the design and implementation of national key ecological conservation and restoration policies.
