A College is, of course, much more than its buildings; just as a University is so much more than a place to attend classes, or a place to get a qualification. Much more important will be the new (and old) friends that we meet, the experiences that we share and the community that we will build together. I hope that you will find CKYC to be a good place for you to explore new interests, hone your skills, broaden your horizons, even challenge your beliefs! That is what College and University are for! He came from a poor family which later moved to Macau and Hong Kong. With diligent and ingenious effort, he founded Sunwah Group in Hong Kong in 1957, and in the 1980s he was recognized as the “King of Seafood”. Mr. Choi is thrifty but takes a life-long commitment to “strengthen the nation by fostering sciences and education”. He founded the Macau Choi’s Education and Culture Foundation and the Sunwah Foundation to establish schools and the Zhongshan Science Museum. He made donations to establish scholarships at various Universities, the “Choi Kai Yau Building” and the “Choi Kai Yau College” at the University of Macau. In recognition of Mr. Choi’s contribution, the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences named a minor planet number “5389” as “Choi Kai Yau Star”. Mr. Choi passed away in 2007 while his name has been marked in history forever. 冠名人 ─ 蔡繼有先生 蔡公繼有，1928 年出生於廣東中山。少時家貧，後移居澳門、香港。憑藉刻苦耐勞，精明強幹，1957 年在港創辦新華集團，至八十年代，被譽為海產大王。 蔡公自奉甚儉，卻畢生踐行「科教興國」。先後創辦澳門蔡氏教育文化基金會及新華基金會，在 港澳內地捐建十數間中小學及中山科學館，並在多間大學設立獎學金，捐建澳門大學蔡繼有樓及蔡繼 有書院，建樹良多。 為表彰其卓越貢獻，紫金山天文台命名該台 5389 號小行星為蔡繼有星。蔡公於 2007 年仙逝，然 其英名已與天地同壽，永載史冊！ 3 Our Benefactor ─ Dr. Jonathan Koon-Shum Choi Dr. Jonathan Koon-Shum Choi is the Chairman of Sunwah Group. He is the recipient of honorary doctorates from Michigan State University in the United States, Vietnam National University in Hanoi, Lingnan University in Hong Kong, and De Montfort University in the United Kingdom. Building upon the successful business founded by his father, the late Mr. Choi Kai Yau, he expanded, diversified, and globalized this enterprise into a significant multinational commercial establishment. Dr. Choi served as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce for a record four terms, in addition to being the Chamber’s Permanent Honorary President. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He also serves on the Standing Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, among many other national and international Committees. Dr. Choi has been awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) and Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Hong Kong SAR Government. 捐贈人 ─ 蔡冠深博士 蔡冠深博士任香港新華集團主席。他獲美國密西根州立大學、越南河內國家大學、香港嶺南大學和英 國德蒙福特大學頒授榮譽博士榮銜。繼承父業後，他為集團拓展新業務，亦將家族生意擴展至今多元 化的全球國際企業。蔡博士破紀錄地四屆出任香港中華總商會會長，現為該會永遠名譽會長。 蔡博士是中國人民政治協商會議全國委員會常務委員。他的其他公職包括中華全國工商業聯合會 常務委員，香港貿易發展局理事會成員, 和其他全國及國際委員會事務。蔡博士榮獲香港特別行政區 政府頒發金紫荊星章（GBS）和太平紳士（JP）頭銜。 4 College Goal and Theme Choi Kai Yau College was established in August 2014. The educational goals of CKYC are built on the tripod of tenets of “Dare to Think; Care to Act”, “Citizenship with Global Awareness”, and a “Caring Community” for Macau and the world. This CKYC Tripod characterises our aspirations for our students. It introduces students to a set of basic study skills and active-learner attitudes that are expected of a university student. Through experiential learning in RC educational activities, learning experiences at UM at large, and the course required e-portfolio practice, students will learn to appreciate the RC seven competencies prescribed as goals of the “community and peer education” of UM. They will also learn how to relate these competencies to their academic performance as well as future career development. 課程名稱: 大一新生體驗式學習 課程編號: CPED1000 課程時間: 大一 課程學分: 1 評分標准: 及格/不及格 學期: 2 (爲期 1 年) 此課程在住宿式學院進行，旨在幫助大一新生適應大學生活並從澳大的全人教育中受益。該課程向 學生介紹一系列大學生應有的基本學習技能和積極學習的態度。學生通過大量參與書院教育活動以 及完成所需的 E-Portfolio 記錄自己體驗式學習的經歷和成果。澳大「社群教育」的目標是通過書院 提升學生的七項勝任力。學生將在此課程學習到如何應用這七項勝任力以取得更好的學習成績及未 來的職業發展。 16 CPED2001 – Residential College Community Team Project 書院社區團隊項目 Course Title: Residential College Community Team Project Course Code: CPED2001 Year of Study: Year 2 Credit Unit: 1 Grading: Pass / Not Pass Semester: 1 This course offers students practical experience in communication and leadership through experiential learning in a community team project. Students of different majors will complete a creative team project on an assigned topic to promote specific positive values pertaining to RC character education to an identified audience in the society under the supervision of RC academic staff and the support of community partner(s). They need to acquire related knowledge of the positive values and the targeted audience as active learners themselves during the process. The student teams need to document their project outcomes in electronic form and make physical or online presentations reflecting on the learning process of the team project. 課程名稱: 書院社區團隊項目 課程編號: CPED2001 課程時間: 大二 課程學分: 1 評分標准: 及格/不及格 學期: 1 此課程在社區團隊專案中通過體驗式學習為學生提供實踐經驗。不同專業的學生將在書院學術人員 的指導和社區合作夥伴的支持下，將正向價值觀傳遞給特定社會群體。學生也可通過項目過程主動 學習這些正向價值觀。學生團隊需以電子形式記錄其專案成果，並進行綫下或線上演講，以反映團 隊項目的過程和收穫。 17 PE Hours 體育時數 A student is assigned to either CPED 1001- Physical Education I (individual sport) or CPED 1002-Physical Education II (team sport), offered by FED every semester of Year 1. Each course included in-class requirements and 5 PE hours per semester. Office of Sports Affairs/Student Affairs Office/ Residential College will provide activities to fulfill PE hours requirements every semester. Each CKYC-organised sports-related activity or training session counts as ONE PE hour. You will also be using UMMoodle to access course materials, quizzes, assignments, fora, and a wide variety of tools and features. Once you are registered as a student in UM, you will be given a university-wide account (UMPASS) to access UMMoodle and other IT services (e.g., email, PCLAN, ISW etc). This digital collection that you prepare throughout the first year will become a record (evidence) of achievement in your learning for the CPED 1000 course, and the repository of your general College experience. Once you are registered as a student in UM, you can use your university-wide account to access E-portfolio (https://eportfolio.umac.mo/). You can also log in to your E-portfolio within UMMoodle, since these two systems are integrated. You can also export files and posts from UMMoodle to E-portfolio. E-portfolio allows you to upload and store your files. You can also control which items and what information within your portfolio other users can see. If you have any questions and concerns about E-portfolio and UMMoodle, you can contact your CPED 1000 course instructors or RTRAs. However, they must continue to do so at a high level into their Second Year in the College. Candidates for these Foundation Scholarships can be self-nominated or nominated by CKYC students or College Staff in the First Semester each year (around October/November).
